Semantic Web Services

Semantic Web Services is an emerging technology topic of a great interest and an area of active research. The use cases of such next generation of 'intelligent' integrations would include effective service discovery, dynamic mediation, automatic composition of services, and goal driven composition of business process etc. Such intelligence is add mainly due to usage of techniques like Description Logic, Information Retrievals and knowledge discovery. This session would first introduce the use case for semantic webservices, and briefly introduce languages, like OWL-S, WSDL-S, WSMO/WSML, for semantic description of Web Services. It would then introduce various matching techniques like capability based matching, multi-level matching, profile based matching etc. It would then cover various patterns of putting this knowledge in use for tackling integration scenarios. Finally, it would cover various frameworks like IRSIII, METEOR-S, OWL-MX,, etc. Certainly each of these has a lot to be covered.
